This is the third in a series using color and shape to explore the various emotional valences of different kinds of relationships. These whole cloth quilts feature curved figures created with different colors of thread. They merge embroidery and tapestry as the images are made by weaving thread through the layers of the quilt. This quilt was supposed to be the first “disconnect” quilt because (unlike Connect #1 & #2) the two circular figures do not touch. But as opposites, the figures are energetically connected even if physically distant. The image is created by switching between purple and peach thread on green shot cotton fabric.
Connect #3 was juried into the Make/Shift Exhibit at the Metro Art Studio, Bridgeport, CT, in 2026.
