This is the first in a series of quilts using color and shape to explore the various emotional valences of different kinds of relationships. In this quilt, two partial circles connect, bumping against one another. The image is created by switching from black thread in the background to a pale pink in the circular figures creating high contrast on dark fabric.
Connection #1 was featured in the Make/Shift exhibit at Metro Art Studios in Bridgeport, CT in 2026.
